The Horn of Africa Evidence and Strategic Research Institute (HESRI) is an independent research institution dedicated to advancing academic excellence, scientific publication, and evidence-informed policymaking. We strengthen research capacity by providing professional training, mentoring, and technical support to students, academics, researchers, and institutions.
HESRI supports researchers throughout the entire research journey from study design and methodology to data analysis, scientific writing, peer review, and publication. We help researchers produce high-quality, ethical, and internationally recognized research that contributes to knowledge and development.
We also generate evidence that informs public policy and decision-making through research, policy analysis, and program evaluations. In addition, HESRI serves as a trusted local partner for international researchers by providing research facilitation, field coordination, ethical guidance, and logistical support for studies conducted in Somaliland and the Horn of Africa.
